The new Yaquis Baseball Stadium is a modern architectural tribute to the rich cultural heritage of Sonora. Inspired by the region's native tribes, it reflects the deep-rooted history of the state while providing a state-of-the-art venue for 16,000 spectators.
The stadium's design is based on nine distinct structures, symbolizing the eight native tribes that laid the foundation for Sonora and a ninth representing the present-day Yaquis and the city's modern identity. The architecture features critical elements of the local environment, such as exposed brick, neutral tones, and transparent elements that evoke the natural surroundings. The stadium stands as a cultural and sports hub, merging tradition with contemporary design to create a functional and significant space.
