The renovation and refurbishment of Saarinen’s iconic hockey rink (1959) addressed accessibility and sustainability shortcomings as well as numerous programmatic expansions. Towers|Golde’s site design seamlessly accommodated a 14,000 s.f. below-grade addition with a new team entry, new handicapped accessible circulation, and a reconfigured parking lot with expanded vehicular circulation. Substantial regrading, replanting and paving was incorporated while minimizing the impact on the original design.
