Situated on the park neighborhood of changning in Shanghai, Xingfu park co-working could be found at the end of the branch of Huashan road, on the top floor of a three-storey brick Spire roof house.
The reason we founded Xingfu park is gather muti-disciplinary background friends together, encouraging the potential for collaboration. The challenge for designer is not only consider the public space of office is conducive to the exchange of different professional background designers, but also provide specific function and some private space for conference.
In order to preserve the original structure and height of the old factory building, enhance the daylight as much as possible, Atelier xy boldly removed all partition and floor slab that had been built in the past few decades, so that we end up with a historically space of quite and rational though.
Traditional office spaces usually make partition walls to enclose rooms with difference function, the connection between each room become corridor. Atelier xy experimented the opposite way that corridor is the crucial volume of the entire space. The corridor itself also integrates many functions such as entrance, circulation, background walls and hiding equipment. Once we define corridor, we achieve the key of project concept, which is separate public office space and the other function space such as conference, living, washroom and showroom.
The material display shelf and several large tables of the open office are made of multilayer birch boards. Designer cleverly hides computer-related accessories and cables inside the desk, leaving as many desk surfaces as possible.
