Design: MArch. Abraham Cota Paredes
The X Chair is an idea, a piece of furniture that seeks to synthesize our philosophy of architecture translated into an object.
Inspired by the crosses of the Barcelona chair, in turn inspired by the millennial chair Curul used in the Roman Senate; The X Chair abstracts the concept of the cross by solving with a single gesture the legs and armrests through clean geometric lines that show the functioning of the structure that becomes part of the design.
The seat evokes the molded wood (Plywood) used by Alvar Aalto (Artek) and Charles and Ray Eames, giving the chair an elegant, modern and ergonomic look.
A fine piece made in a completely handmade way, seeks to become a symbol of the new Mexican design.
