This project is a complete gut renovation of a home for a young family. Located in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, this duplex was originally a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath apartment with bedrooms on the lower level and living room, kitchen, half bath, and utility room on the second level. A large large terrace is also just off the living room.
In this renovation the lower level layout was only slightly altered, but on the second level the utility room and half bath were enlarged to create a new bedroom and full bathroom, therefore upgrading the residence into a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom home.
For bedrooms on the lower level we chose a darker and richer color palette, and one ascends to the open living space on the second level with expansive glass. Here the color and material scheme is light and airy.
