The WORKSBUREAU Studio located at 2524 is crafted from a repurposed 1980s Fred Astaire dance studio—an otherwise ordinary building in the urban landscape—transformed and reinvigorated in its second life as an architecture and interior design atelier. The architecture is conceived to be functionally elegant and systemic, with highly integrated sustainability. Existing masonry is paired with a new scrim of vertical solid and perforated weathering steel panels, reaching to the sky. This layer reduces the intense radiation of the desert sun while allowing daylight to permeate the studio. Completed as will bruder architects ltd
