Plan 3 of the city of the sun sizes 450 houses, subdivided into ‘green’ housing islands and a 500 meter long rigid strip.
34 apartments divided over 6 storeys and 17 special care apartments on the ground floor (accessability).the highrise privatizes itself from the rigid 500m long horizontal strip, guiding the visitor at his arrival of the island as beacon.
To give the massive high rise a slender look, the mass has been subdivided in two materials (brick and wood). By integrating the balconies into the mass of the building a slender and differentiated building arises. The brick pattern is a ‘spekkoek’ of two bricks. rough-smooth.
