WOODSIDE
The existing house on this 5 acre wooded site was English Tudor inspired but in poor condition. Exterior half timbering and stucco finishes were replaced and reworked, and interior finishes were almost entirely removed and replaced to provide a more structurally sound, better insulated house with cutting edge control systems for lighting, home electronics and security.
The main house remodel included a mahogany and bubinga paneled study for him and a more contemporary fiddleback sycamore lined space for her. The kitchen was reworked with new cabinets and counters and a wall removed to create a more continuous great room experience with a reading nook. A very contemporary entry hall and stair were replaced with architecture more in keeping with the style of the house.
The new Pool House is a stone clad structure with timber framing, and includes a main entertainment space with full kitchen and guest bedroom. The lower level features a tasting room and wine cellar with storage for 12,000 bottles. Interior walls are integrally colored plaster with rosewood cabinets. French limestone floors flow continuously through all spaces and outdoor patios
