The fence expresses a playful rhythm of light and shadows, manipulating the pedestrian’s eye towards a private garden located in the old Fabric neighbourhood of Timisoara. While passing by, the garden offers a small part of its beauty through the tight space between the vertical wooden profiles fixed on the fence’s steel structure.
Adopting a more transparent limit between private and public space, I wanted to create an subtile example for the street which changed it's appearance in the last 20 years from transparent to almost opaque limits between private courtyards or gardens and the public street life, tranforming completely its initial perception.
With a careful attention to details, along this 17 metter wooden fence, and three sliding gates, the street regained its transparency, and from certain view points it visually expands its space into the private garden of its owner, making the garden part of the street again.
