The project for the technical college for wood technology aims to focus the „big house“ into an archetypal basic form and integrates it into the urban fabric on the border between city and countryside. The formal simplicity of the building is enriched by a repeating detail in the sheathing that provides the facade with an enhanced haptic depth.
The collaboration in planning with the occupants – the teaching staff of the technical college for wood technology – provided significant synergies and enabled the individual use of wood.
A column-free floor plan was realized at low cost by making use of prefabricated elements and offers a high flexibility for usage.
