Douglas Development began transforming the historic Wonder Bread factory building in 2012 into unique loft-style offices with high ceilings and large glass windows. Wingate Hughes Architects, the designers for the 1,000 SF Wonder Bread building lobby, introduce guests to the refurbished office building by blending the old with the new within the building entrance. The lobby design utilizes industrial steal beams and exposed pipes to frame the elevators and ceiling. They balance the factory vibe with a rich, rustic sophistication by using mosaic tile flooring and a tile wall inset behind a raw wood and iron bench for seating. Elegant brass lighting fixtures run along the ceiling adjacent to distressed steal beams, offering additional lighting for night. During the day, the floor to ceiling windows and glass block side wall provide the space with ample natural light. The lobby's composure heightens with deep wood paneling and amber stained glass window panes bordering the elevator doors.
