HLW partnered with Wix to reimagine a fragmented, multi-tenant site—originally designed around a shopping mall—into a dynamic, future-ready campus for over 3,000 employees. The brief called for a bold, people-first workplace that could flex and grow in tandem with Wix’s evolving culture, rapid expansion, and experimentation-led ethos.
With few planning constraints, the design focused on innovation, adaptability, and community. A key challenge was unifying seven disconnected buildings into a cohesive experience while enabling the flexibility needed for Wix’s shifting team structures. Team rooms had to expand or contract—sometimes overnight—without disrupting operations or infrastructure.
Transformation began with a complete rethinking of circulation. HLW introduced “Wix Streets”—a layered, intuitive internal thoroughfare that stitches together all seven buildings. This central spine enables seamless movement while encouraging collaboration and spontaneous interaction, creating a truly community-driven environment.
Flexibility is addressed through a modular ceiling and partitioning system that allows entire team rooms to be reconfigured overnight—without modifying MEP, lighting, or structural infrastructure. This future-proof solution ensures operational continuity for a fast-moving global tech company.
The interior language blends functionality with hospitality. Each building is color-coded to support intuitive navigation and individual identity. Hard flooring reinforces a pet-friendly policy, while acoustic panels made from recycled pulp ensure privacy in shared spaces. Amenities reflect Wix’s culture of creativity, including maker spaces, a podcast studio, music rooms, and an employee-run store.
At the heart of the campus is a commitment to well-being. A full-scale wellness center, outdoor terraces, and five on-site restaurants offer diverse spaces for rest, recharge, and social connection. Every element—from planning to materials—enhances the employee experience and fosters a vibrant, evolving workplace culture.
Sustainability and inclusivity are integral to the design. Repurposing a former mall structure significantly reduced embodied carbon. Modular systems minimize renovation waste, while recycled materials and durable finishes lower environmental impact. An advanced double-glass façade, developed by Moshe Zur Architects, improves energy efficiency by moderating internal temperatures and reducing mechanical loads.
Campus-wide operational strategies—such as reusable containers and supplier packaging reduction—further embed sustainable practices.
Social sustainability was equally prioritized. The “Wix Learn” educational hub includes eight meeting rooms and a 500+ seat auditorium for expert talks, student programs, and community outreach. This inclusive design extends the campus’s impact beyond the company to the wider public, supporting continuous learning and cross-generational engagement.
