Witbrant East is an extension of the suburb Reeshof. One of the starting points for the urban plan was to design a neighborhood with a strongly individual character; not only in architecture but especially in the symbiosis between urban planning, architecture and landscape.
Other ambitions are realized: the reintroduction of housing types with great flexibility; parking included in the architecture; low-maintenance and durable materials apply in all facades facing the public space. By limiting the height, the view of the surrounding forest reserve anywhere.
The urban plan includes 395 dwellings whose Bedaux de Brouwer Architects have designed 323 (guest-architect Erna van Sambeek 72 houses). The district consists of patio homes with housing widths ranging from 6 to 16 meters, orthogonally arranged in the surrounding forest.
