The Bucella brothers – Claudio and Fabrizio – were passionate about one thing: wine. Especially Fabrizio’s expertise is unrivaled. Keen on sharing their passion with kindred spirits, the idea of Wine Club originated: a place for wine enthusiasts share experiences and tasting notes, as well as meet up with friends to enjoy a selection of wines and champagnes in a fitting environment. An idea the siblings explained to us is during – you guessed it – an extensive wine tasting.
The social aspect and the variety of tasting occasions were key in developing the interior design and branding. The importance of enjoying wine with others reflects in the logo with 3 glasses of wine forming an abstract bunch of grapes. Every well-respected club needs a strong icon, right?
Another element emphasizing the social angle of the club is the large tasting counter with spitting sink placed in the center of the back space. Visible from every angle and highlighted by the bespoke light fixture hanging above it, the counter features as the centerpiece of the entire space. With both direct light for tastings and indirect light for atmosphere, it truly is the heart of bar.
The central light fixture used to accentuate the counter was custom designed together with a series of ceiling lamps inspired by the typical structure of a winery's grape vine. The design stands out because of its peculiar lighting mechanism. The horizontal element from which brass discs are pending reflects the light from tubular led spots descending from the ceiling.
Different tasting moments of the evening require distinct atmospheres. A demand we catered to by creating various seating arrangements. A place at the counter invites you to take part the tasting experience, while the cozy leather booth surrounded by a wall of walnut strips featuring a selection of exclusive bottles creates a more intimate feel.
Throughout the entire project high attention was paid to the balance of finishes and meticulous detailing. Brushed brass, smoked walnut, green marble, terrazzo, green velvet and stucco create a rich and earthy bouquet of materials.
