This project is a weekend house facing the Sagami Bay, with views of Mt. Fuji and Enoshima. The site is just 3 x 8 meters and the building footprint occupies 60% of the space. The building became three stories almost automatically, as the ground floor pilotis were necessary to protect from storm surge. It seemed difficult to avoid blocking the view of the neighborhood behind, so I designed large openings both on the sea side and the road side to allow the view to pass through the building in the owner's absence. And there is a view of the mountains from the road side indeed! It stands between land and sea and became a house as a window to see through each other.
