In Orléans, the Madeleine Campus stands as a catalyst for a transforming territory, committed to a more supportive, humanistic, and open city.
The site of the Porte-Madeleine General Hospice—remarkable heritage listed within the UNESCO perimeter—hosts the rebirth of a unifying district where higher education becomes an urban driver. The project’s challenge lies in preserving the historical strength of the existing fabric while asserting a contemporary architectural language capable of engaging in dialogue with it.
Between rupture and continuity, the new Student Hub building finds its rightful place: it opens generously onto the public realm and forges new connections with the surrounding urban fabric. The Administration Hub rehabilitates the former hospice, giving it a second life by bringing together uses, memories, and future perspectives. The ceremonial courtyard becomes an active hinge, articulating movement, temporalities, and exchange.
An open campus—a place to learn together, a shared landscape for tomorrow.
