NK Architects has completed a new transformational academic building at the heart of the WPU campus. This is the first project in a series of proposed developments defined by the University’s academic zone master plan and, as such, will set the tone for all of the University’s future development. Through careful collaboration with WPU, NK has designed a building that is respectful of its rich historical context while embodying the aspirations of the University’s future.
At 80,000+ square feet, University Hall is the new home for the departments of Nursing, Public Health and Communication Disorders and is a hot‐bed of campus collaboration. A combination of classrooms, seminar rooms, laboratories, academic offices and a clinical office, mixed with a large number of unscheduled collaborative spaces and a commons area (including a café) gives the building a rich cross‐section of users and spaces to promote a modern educational environment.
As a LEED™ Gold building, the new University Hall furthers the University’s commitment to sustainability and creates a healthy learning environment with unique features such as living walls and an outdoor terrace and green roof.
