The new school is designed for 1,800 students on a 123 acre site and includes technical education classes, athletic facilities and areas for collegiate-style collaboration.

The building is organized along a central spine from east to west, taking advantage of the site’s topography on three levels. Along the central spine, the building is divided into three sections; commons, fine arts and administration in the middle, with classroom wings to the east and athletics to the west.

Classrooms are organized into two-story wings that radiate from the central spine. The three main wings that extend to the north are connected by a second floor walkway. This walkway provides a secondary east/west corridor to ease circulation and also provides a space for the distribution of utilities to the wings. The east end of the spine terminates in a Technical Education wing that opens to form a multi-use atrium. This space is utilized for staff meetings, community events, student groups and as an additional lunch room.

There are two storm shelters in the school: the wrestling room in athletics and a two-story classroom pod in academics, each with restrooms within the shelter enclosure. Secure entry is monitored by the office staff at the front doors to ensure no person enters without their approval.
