Whale Watchers is located above a rocky outcrop with a coastal rainforest backdrop. The land is protected on the south, but exposed to the best and worst of a coastal subtropical environment to the north. A lawn-covered platform provides a visual link to the headland reserve, and iconic views to Mt. Warning and Mt. Chincogan.
A bounding curved paddock stone wall, cascading garden, and formed watercourse contribute to the public domain. The design incorporates a double-height void with a water feature creating an evaporative cooled stack. External louvers protect major openings from seasonal subtropical storms and cyclone tails. Screens are used
for mosquitos, bush turkeys, bandicoots and snakes.
A sheltered internal courtyard pool, is protected from prevailing winds and sun.
