Nestled amongst the woods on this 40-acre site, Larson & Darby’s long range plan for this church is designed to be built in phases. Based on the medieval village plan, the church sanctuary is highest and central to the other ministries flanking the sanctuary to form a courtyard for the amphitheater, picnic pavilion, and playgrounds. Patios, walkways, and a meditation garden enhance the courtyard. Using traditional forms, we have designed a contemporary environment for worship.
The plan includes the 6,800 SF sanctuary that is designed to seat 1,000 while utilizing only ½ of the area (in Phase I) to seat 500. The remaining area provides an interim narthex, room for Caring Ministries, and parlor. Also included in the Phase I plan is an education wing that includes a children’s chapel, seven classrooms, and a preschool office. The lower level has a youth lounge, choir rehearsal room, and large storage rooms. The 5,600 SF administration wing was designed with a social hall/gymnasium, kitchen, conference room, and offices.
The campus plan has an outer circle drive with parking to provide easy access to the church, a picnic area, and playground without crossing the drive. The perimeter of the site has a jogging path, nature trails, volleyball courts, soccer fields, and baseball fields. The new church has a contemporary design with lots of glass, lighting, and open spaces, but the new building looks like a church with a steeple, cross, and stained glass windows from the original building
