Perrysburg is an historic river community with an abundant stock of late nineteenth and twentieth century homes. The objective was to design a comfortably scaled structure for a wooded and abruptly sloping site on the bank of the Maumee River. Orientation of the plan is angled to gather sunlight and takes advantage of spectacular panoramic views up and down the river. Because the site is narrow, a vertically zoned structure was required. The main living area is in the center, master bedroom suite up, guest rooms and a family area in the lower level. On the upper levels and decks, one feels as if in a tree house.
