The clients—a chef and a baker—desired a light-filled space with stylish function allowing them to cook, bake and entertain. Craig expanded the kitchen by removing a wall, vaulted the ceiling and enlarged the windows. He placed reclaimed Douglas fir beams on the ceiling to add warmth. Kitchen cabinetry made with sycamore continues the organic rustic look. Other key features include a Blue Star stove, Italian marble backsplash, custom copper hood and concrete sink and countertops. The open living space also mixes modern and natural materials and the bathroom is a unique extension of the design.
