Indra Tata Adilaras - in collaboration with Conteur Studio & Intout Construction - designs one of the latest addition of Bogor's mushrooming restaurant establishments. As the restaurant boom happened in the city by the end 2019, many new hospitality establishments were finding new ways of thriving and developing safe and comfortable spaces.
Fortunately, Bogor has a pleasant outdoor tropical climate despite the tendency to have heavy downpour, and has been associated with a short weekend getaway from the hot-humid-polluted capital of Jakarta. The design and development brief of the restaurant is to exploit these into a sound and bold statement from the architecture, interior design, branding, and services of the restaurant.
The brief calls for a relaxing atmosphere for all-day & week-long dining experience, and draws diners attention towards the outdoor optimizing the site's sloping contour and its proximity to the street life. More than half of the seatings are located outdoor and semi-outdoor, some arranged to provide semi-private environments.
The building is a simple gable roof structure sheltering indoor dining areas, hovering above a concrete box with projecting overhangs dressed with glass curtain walls. The ground extends beyond the perimeter of the building providing blends of dining and landscaping areas.
The architecture carefully maintains the presence of the massing and the surfaces to keep the flow between indoor and outdoor area seamless. In turn, the interior designers fill up the space with specially crafted pieces, and renders the surfaces with rich textured materials, lightings, and colors to given highlights to the dining experience.
