I was asked to design and Construct a Nighclub from ground up in 4 months. The project became challenging when my client and great friend John Chang decided to fly out a crew of skilled labor to execute the project. Webster Hall is a famous nightclub in New York city but I wanted to give Webster Hall in Punta Cana a different look. My client was fascinated with Maru the Asian Lounge bar restaurant that I designed and he Loved the Large Temple Bell I had made for the center piece in the VIP area. I never like to repeat myself so I had to create a Bell that was double in size and faced it with mirrors like a Disco Ball. The now Disco BELL measures 6' in Diameter by 9' tall. This acted as the anchor point to the club and once the Lasers hit the surface of the Bell it reflected to all areas. I treated the surrounding wall surfaces to further reflect the lights by undulating Mirrors at different angles. The VIP area is represented by the glass enclosed elliptical area that colorfully lit with a private DJ booth and Bar. Not only is the visual aesthetics important but the sound of a club is the first most important element to its success. We flew in top sound designers and equipment to fit the acoustic of the club.
