Wayne County Community College District is replacing aging, obsolete and deteriorating buildings to accommodate present and future enrollment needs. The Northwest Campus construction includes three components:
- New roadways, parking and green spaces to create a cohesive campus - A new general education building - An addition to the main education building
Hamilton Anderson’s site design includes a bio-retention basin, storm water detention under the parking lot, drought tolerate native plantings and a geothermal well and green roof. An interactive workshop with the client during the design phase was used to value engineer the project and confirm the budget and schedule. The project earned a Platinum LEED Certification.
