We were asked to help with a master plan studying the potential connections of a future regional library to the existing town. The future site is an untouched parcel covered in a dense forest which included some incredible Heritage trees. Our proposal explores the notion of the site remaining as forested as possible. Endeavoring to preserve the trees, we recommended a functionally fragmented cluster of public and private use spaces which focus on the participatory issues of learning, media, and sustainability. Additionally, we envisioned the site to help create an edge to the existing town bracketing while at the same time planning for its growth. We also proposed, inn conjunction with the construction of a New Town Hall to the north, to create a Civic Green Pedestrian Axis between these structures. An example of some of our planning work and the representation associated with it. Plan still under consideration. Library unbuilt for now.
