The
Pushkinsky Cinema building, needs a change...
...old
and new... black and white... day and night... front and back... waves and the
rest... on a box... for a sum... for a change... but a correct one... change of
face...
WAVES
OF CHANGE... The two basic elements of the concept are the
Corian waves wrapping the building and the mediawall in between these waves.
At
day time, the white Corian waves and the deep black, laminated-powerglass
mediawall creates a strong contrast effect for the facade. While the building
diffuses in the mostly snowy cityscape, it also differs itself from the
surrounding with its flowing Corian waves; which are not matching with any of
the references around. At night, as the sunlight dims, dominating power of
artificial light takes the stage. The LED wall creates a shiny media show through the liquid Corian
waves which became almost invisible. The
interior of the building benefits from this feature as well. Theatre foyer gains a
dynamic ambiance by the the changing vivid colours of the media show.
The
content of these media shows might be commercial or art, but its effect to the
interior theatre space, to the night, to the Pushkinsky Park and its
surrounding will be unique, that is for sure.
