Like
a wave of the ocean, like the sand in waves.
The program is: the station has to have views to the beach, to the
amusement park. Use the wave, then, to
make a view – the force of a wave – the wave forces a view.
As
the façade waves up and down, it waves in and out. The façade bulges in on one level and waves
onto the other level, where it bulges out.
The façade on one level waves in between the waves of the other level;
where one façade bulges in, the other façade bulges out.
The
façade waves out, bulges out, to enclose the stairway up to the station. The façade bulges out and breaks to make an
entrance off the ramp to the station.
Inside
the station, the bulge of the façade twists from
in to out, and vice versa; when it reaches a breaking point, it opens to make a
view.
Here
and there the façade bulges just far enough in, just far enough out, to make a
seat.
