The glass wall of the Visitors’
Center invites the outside in. At the
bottom of the ramp outside, you’re inside the building but outside the wall,
you sit next to a person inside, who’s visiting the plant. At the end of the walkway outside, you’re
outside the building but inside the wall, you sit next to a person outside, who
just happens to be passing by.
The
edge of the plant is shaken, and loosened.
The fence wavers, the fence undulates:
the neighborhood expands to fill the gap. The fence separates from its concrete base
and swerves into the grounds of the plant, it ropes land in for the
neighborhood. The concrete base loops
in, bringing the sidewalk with it; the concrete base splits and fills with
waterfalls.
