The concept "Waterfall House" was created based on the requirements of the owner, who needs a lot of usable area. However, due to the limited land size, we solved the problem by designing the function of the house in vertical lines instead. And given the swimming pool on the top floor, so we used the idea of "Waterfall" as the main design concept.
The swimming pool on the 7th floor is like a water source on the mountain that gradually flows through cliffs and a layer of rock to become a waterfall. We designed the façade of the house with a vertical pattern line that was arranged in a panel across each floor alternately to represent the waterfall curtain that was flowing down through the different layers. The inside glass wall was designed to be obliquely folded back and forth to represent the cliff that supports a waterfall which is flows from top to bottom like "Paradise Falls."
In addition of the facade giving a unique character for the house. It also helps filter sunlight to reduce heat inside the house and prevents the view from the opposite side to provide the house with privacy as well.
