Through a developer-led planning effort, CallisonRTKL was selected to provide preliminary facility programming, planning and site conceptual studies defining cost and scope for Washington Adventist Hospital’s replacement hospital. The new development features two, six-story acute care patient towers with 170 all-private beds and an emergency department planned to accommodate 50,000 to 60,000 visits per year. In addition, an ambulatory care center features outpatient and cancer treatment services, and two medical office buildings to house physician offices and space for outpatient programs. Faced with rigorous zoning and regulation local standards, the hospital is designed to reach LEED certification.
