This house was a quest for ecos; a common nature for both economy and ecology. While LEED for Homes didn’t yet exist we sought the highest possible rating within a very low budget. The design originated with a compact plan, an efficient envelope, a passive landscape, and low maintenance materials from local sources. It now stands as a compact and durable structure built of common, durable materials with the utmost efficiency of all resources. The result was an attainable LEED Platinum certified home.
