A finalist for the public art at TF Greene Airport’s new Consolidated Car Rental facility, this piece tackled an emerging project within public art – the parking garage. While the impact of an intervention at the dimensions of airport infrastructure needs to operate at the urban scale, this proposal dedicated a new park space to the public at a pedestrian scale as well. Capitalizing on the necessity to remain detached from the majority of the garage façade, this canopy touches down at the ground using the foundation for attachment as a seating area complete with a boardwalk of reclaimed wood and beds of sea shells.
