This 540 sq.ft apartment is located at a newly completed residential building – Warrenwoods, Tai Hang, Hong Kong. The flat was originally a one bedroom apartment with a separate kitchen and bathroom, together with extra high ceilings the space appeared smaller and confined. We began by knocking out the kitchen and bedroom walls, and completely refinishing the apartment in natural oak.The bedroom floor has been raised, with remote controlled access to storage under the bed, as well as plenty of cleverly concealed cupboard space and drawers built into the stairs for smaller items. The feature wall behind the TV is made from scrap wood, combined with cantilevered shelves with lighting to highlight the timber paneling.Being a newly completed apartment block, both the kitchen and bathroom were brand new, so we decided to keep most of it original except replacing the white lacquered cupboard doors to timber. By adding a polished stainless steel backsplash and mirror wall at the entrance, the open kitchen appears floating in the middle of a larger room. The ceiling light troughs are also mirrored to extend the space and provide extra storage.
