Vy house is a present that the daughter wants to surprised her family. The 324 square meter house has eleven family members with three generations living together. The 20 years-old existing house located in district 3, Ho Chi Minh city with about 20 minutes to the airport. The house’s existing condition had covered around by solid walls and small windows without greenery and sunlight, and building spacious balconies became useless spaces. The old layout made the house dark inside even it has two facades and one of them facing to the alley.
To solve these issues, base on the advantages of house, glass doors and glass windows are used to open as much as possible for every room. The aluminium wooden pattern louvers layer combing with the hanging plants was used to not only to prevent the heat of sunlight and the polluted air, but also to create the different view for each room.
Dwellers who live in the house would be able to enjoy fresh air that coming through the greenery layer from the inside.
The main concept of the design is simplicity - green - connection. The concept aims to create a connection space for the family members that helps them getting closer to the nature and enjoy their high quality of life. The house's green facade is also designed to serve as a decorative feature for the neighbourhood.
The idea of the vertical stripes that was arranged randomly in purpose is used for both exterior and interior handrail, it was also used to arranged the atrium concrete beams. With this idea the architect would like to bring the connection feeling for the family from the outside to the inside of the house by using just one design language. In order to bring the idea from drawings to the reality, the design team had worked closely with the contractor in every detail of the house, from choosing right materials, deciding all of the dimensions, design details, colours, type of plants, etc. The building was completed with a high responsibility and effort of the design team to bring to the client the best quality of their living space.
