In the beginning, these were single-story private houses that were developed according to the new needs of the homeowners. After discussing the space requirements, the building area had to be increased to 3 floors. The basic concept of this project is how to ensure that the owner's needs can be met in a land area that is not too large, the land area is only 105 square meters. We started by placing 2 carports for cars from the front area of the land to the middle as an inner carport. The entrance to the house is not on the face of the building, but on the side. When entering the house, the Architect placed the foyer which is directly connected to the mini living in the middle area. The mini living is also designed to be connected with a sliding window that can be fully opened and faces directly into the inner carport so that air and natural light can enter optimally. There is only a bench that also functions as shoe storage.
On the 2nd floor, there is also a living area for families which is also open concept with a kitchen. The main bedroom is also on the 2nd floor. By cutting the middle of the building into an open void, the building can have more openings for air and sunlight. This void opening is a gap for air from outside to enter each floor of the house.
Additional rooms such as children's rooms and guest rooms are placed on the 3rd floor with an additional multipurpose room on the outside. On the side of the stair wall, a skylight is also conceptualized so that sunlight can enter and illuminate the stair area. The railings on the stairs are designed using 0.8 millimeter thick steel strips in a vertical model as the main safety for children, considering that the homeowner has twins who are still toddlers.
The concept of the facade is closed with minimal windows with the main openings on the side of the building, so that the front of the house can look more plain and closed with the addition of repeated accents from glass fiber reinforced concrete (GRC).
