The space is a Startup Incubator Center situated inside a 133 year old institute in the heart of the city, which also happens to be the city's oldest engineering college. This adaptive reuse interior project in an educational institute gives us a great opportunity to instil a place for change. By changing the nature of a space, we can change the nature of interactions that happen in it. Working on an adaptive reuse interior project, we believe it's important to respect what originally existed on site. The space, previously being a lab, had a lot of wooden elements present in it. Our Design for the Incubator center highlights the use of upcycled wood that was earlier used for the lab furniture, column cladding & partitions. Along with these features, we've also used Circadian lighting in the space.
These strategically designed systems have the power to positively affect people's health, alertness, productivity, and more.
