Vita Tysons Corner Center by MACERICH is located just outside Washington, DC, with direct access to the city’s Metro (subway) system. An easy commute to the capital, the 30-storey luxury apartment building is part of a development that includes an office tower, hotel and public plaza. It is designed to appeal to a diverse cross-section of international residents.
Vita’s common areas and amenities by Cecconi Simone engender human scale and animation in varied spaces. A box-within-box design strategy threads its way through four levels, adapting itself from street to roof. Transforming from opaque to open framework to transparent, the boxes introduce grounding elements in large, open areas and add intimacy in smaller spaces. The boxes create the opportunity for the residents to engage with the spaces in which they’re located.
Vita’s exterior rooftop amenities integrate the geometry of the building and are zoned into three activity areas: dining–lounging, barbeque and poolside.
