Thanks to the migration of tech and aerospace jobs to the southeast, Huntsville has seen remarkable population growth and with that growth, a need for high-quality, multi-family housing to serve these young professionals.
Within a short walk of downtown, the Vista site sits in a neighborhood formerly filled with light office, industrial and medical uses, but has now become a vibrant, mixed-use community with multi-family housing, retail, hotels, and restaurants.
As a transition between downtown and nearby institutional campuses, reinforcing walkability and the pedestrian experience was of particular importance. The main elevation of the building sits along a curved street, providing a unique opportunity to shape the building. This not only helped to reduce the scale of this 332 unit building, but provided an opportunity to create truly unique residential units.
The facades include a thoughtful use of textured building materials, subtle changes in color, with balconies and entrance treatments providing additional color and shadow. The amenities start at the ground floor where a large interior courtyard is framed by the fitness center and apartments. Capping off the development is a rooftop indoor-outdoor amenity deck with mountain views, a pool, golf sims, and spaces for small and large private gatherings.
