Brief: To design a visitor centre overlooking Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.Concept: Reflecting the heavy cliff faces and caves of the surrounding limestone gorge in a masonry building. As the visitor moves through the space, specific views of the bridge are seen through angled viewports. These contrast with the rest of the Visitor Centre in the same way the cables of the suspension bridge contrast with its massive masonry towers.
