Vision Valpoi 2041: A Resilient City Master Plan
The Vision 2041 for Valpoi redefines how small towns in India can grow—rooted in ecological resilience, inclusive development, and climate responsiveness. Valpoi lies within a sensitive ecological landscape in Goa, India, nestled within forested hills and seasonal rivers that shape its environmental identity. Set in the biodiverse landscape of North Goa, Valpoi is a key administrative and transit hub of the Sattari Taluka comprising of 70 villages with 64,000 residents.
The Vision 2041 moves beyond conventional infrastructure-led planning. It proposes a regenerative framework centered on five pillars: sustainable mobility, flood resiliency and ecological enhancement, resilient public realm, inclusive social infrastructure, and diverse economy. Nature-based solutions—like riverfront parks, urban forests, and climate-adaptive streets—are proposed to simultaneously address flooding, biodiversity, and quality of life.
The plan’s capital investment roadmap, supported by India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, identifies catalytic projects that emphasize green-blue infrastructure, climate adaptation, and long-term resilience. Through this vision, Valpoi aims to become a model for small-town planning in India—where vibrant public life, environmental consciousness, and economic opportunity can co-exist. The Vision Valpoi 2041 is a blueprint for regeneration—positioning Valpoi to become a town of creativity, healthy living, and ecological integrity by 2041.
