In the race for efficiency and speed, Hangzhou, the capital of e-commerce, has unlocked the city's vitality through live-streaming, where every late-night broadcast lights up the city with new consumption stories created by the talent and resilience of streamers. Vision Entertainment drives its brand's continuous growth with "instant power" and "youthful energy," leveraging innovative "celebrity live-streaming" models and multidimensional industry integration to become a leader in China's live-stream entertainment industry.
As the company expanded and integrated its operations, the client wanted the new office space to embody the brand's attitude and the aesthetic characteristics of its target demographic. Therefore, due to the alignment between the brand's philosophy and design taste, the new headquarters building's design was entrusted to Xiao Yizhan, the lead designer of Yizhan Design, who oversaw the overall planning and design. Xiao coordinated various professionals specializing in construction, interior design, and decorative art to create a spiritual home that reflects Vision Entertainment's brand DNA and the zeitgeist.
The team focused on the young workforce’s expectations of their work environment, using different color schemes to inspire energy and creativity. While highlighting the brand's dynamic, forward-thinking, and open attitude, they also created shared spaces that encourage social interaction and content creation, fostering a relaxed, lively, modern workspace for both work and leisure.
Colour-Inspired Life
As a new industry concentrated with young professionals, the average age of MCN (Multi-Channel Network) live-streamers is just 22.9. These individuals love exploring new experiences and prefer unconventional ways to balance life and work. After conducting in-depth research into the psychological needs of this younger generation, the design team decided to create a restrained spatial language that delves into Generation Z's lifestyle. The design explores the symbiotic relationship between people and space through a bright, energetic container.
Unlike other companies in the industry, the brand's founder has a top-tier art education background and an exceptional independent aesthetic. They envisioned the headquarters as a utopian youth community, blending work, life, and social interaction rather than being limited by the boundaries of workspaces and filming locations. The design focuses on open spaces and "gray zones," allowing creativity to flourish in every corner, with each individual becoming a participant and witness to Vision Entertainment's growth.
The prominent use of red symbolizes the brand's reverence for classic aesthetics and youthful vitality. To enhance the space's capacity and efficiency, the design maximizes the use of the multi-level atrium. Different color-themed atriums increase the space's potential, with the ground floor contrasting the natural energy of green with the passionate red, creating a powerful yet soft visual impact that declares "The future is now."
Generation-Z Utopia
Simple structures and bold colors introduce classic architectural language, establishing a fashionable tone for the space. Yizhan Design incorporates themes from international design schools, ensuring the office can also function as a runway, social space, and art gallery.
The brand's signature "V" is accentuated in a giant structure painted in vibrant orange, symbolizing the company's ambitious attitude. The structure extends vertically, linking the indoor and outdoor spaces, forecasting infinite possibilities for the company's future.
The office area extends the red color across the ceiling, wrapping the space in comfort while maintaining a cohesive design. Structural pipelines are highlighted in a bold way, breaking the conventional furniture layout to infuse vitality into the workspace. Movable furniture is used to enhance the flexibility of the working environment.
The design includes transparent, inward-facing mini-phone booths embedded in the office space, providing spots for spontaneous phone calls, creating a dynamic balance between privacy and openness.
Social Work Environment
In relaxed, low-pressure environments, creativity and self-expression are more easily stimulated. Therefore, the meeting and discussion areas blend privacy with openness, forming a natural, open social space.
A soft and vibrant yellow-green palette is used to create an area that feels both personally belonging to the individual and conducive to spontaneous social interactions, fostering camaraderie and collaboration among colleagues.
Surrounding the multifunctional atrium space, which integrates reception, coffee, and social functions, the green color cascades down from the upper office floors, adding layers of depth with varying shades. The cantilevered staircase uses lightweight forms to dissolve the sense of heaviness, converging the space into a flowing, flexible area.
Design details consider future adaptability, with ample storage added, and a large amount of light-colored wood used to create a warm, relaxed tone, providing a calm retreat for employees amid their busy schedules. This reflects Vision Entertainment's focus on human-centered care.
The modular seating arrangement further enhances the dynamic, flexible space, transforming it into an easy-to-access mobile workspace. As a company that emphasizes content creation and change, Vision Entertainment encourages its employees to break free from fixed workstations. Employees are free to sit wherever they like, with their laptops, ready to link creativity with the unique chemistry of the different environments.
Fashion Evolution
As a creative company driven by the live-streaming and e-commerce entertainment industry, Vision Entertainment thrives on vitality and a sharp sense of fashion, both intricately tied to the ever-changing online landscape. In the second-floor public area, art and stage presentation are integrated into a combination of "stair" modules for presentations. The reflective ceiling surface expands the spatial scope, complemented by a wall-sized LED screen, where the connection between indoors and outdoors is highlighted, bringing avant-garde modernity to life.
A runway bridges the space, instantly transforming the office into a fashion show venue, breaking the functional constraints of the space. Amidst the flashing, hazy aesthetics of the cameras, one can glimpse Vision's rebellious, avant-garde fashion DNA from another dimension.
Countless floating metallic spheres and rhythmic lighting changes create a city of dreams, blending past and future, echoing the brand’s vision of a bright future. The sleek, stylish texture injects a vibrant soul into the living and working experience at Vision Entertainment.
The passage of time shapes us all, changing how we understand the world. The live-stream entertainment industry enriches life while writing new pop culture stories. Every practitioner in this field creates wonders with passion. This collaboration between Yizhan Design and Vision Entertainment represents a cultural fusion based on aesthetic alignment. It uses vibrant life scenarios to reflect the individuality of every unique worker, bringing creation back to its core. The design responds to the shared expectations of both young professionals and the industry, with a personal, practice-driven approach.
