We had the honor of participating in the international architectural competition for the Vilnius Airport arrival terminal and, together with our partners from INBO in the Netherlands, we developed an idea that we called Sonata.
Why Sonata? Because our idea is an architectural story about movement, rhythm, and harmony.
Like a musical composition, the terminal develops while maintaining a clear structure, but at the same time allows for flexibility, lightness, and emotion.
In this project, we focused on three key aspects: the passenger experience, sustainability, and Lithuanian identity.
We created a terminal that not only functions efficiently, but also allows travelers to feel confident, comfortable, and cozy from the moment they step inside. Clear spaces, natural lighting, greenery, and a well-thought-out flow logic ensure a smooth and pleasant journey.
The project stands out because its sustainability solutions are integrated into the architectural logic itself: local wood, a modular structure, green technologies, and efficient engineering solutions create long-term value.
Ultimately, Sonata speaks about Lithuania – using the geometry of “sodai”, we have conveyed the spirit of the country: a delicate balance between tradition and progress. It is a terminal that bids farewell and welcomes with warmth and meaning.
