A heavily contoured site with a close proximity to the water front, allows for the masterplan to be developed into 12 individual plots (each of approx. 500 sq mts.) all boasting of a spectacular sea view.
Due to the close proximity of the plots, the project seeks to re-adapt the vernacular courtyard typology synonymous to the architecture within Goa that allows for a private inner core.Built for a multi-generational family who seeks a communal way of living yet providing a space that is private, screened from the prying eyes of surrounding neighbours.
From street level the house is approached via a flight of stairs that lead up to the courtyard- the new hearth of the home. The public
and private realms are layered in a spatial procession from the
street. Circulation within the house circumambulate the courtyard
on all floors.
