A modern yet timeless home has been realized on the outskirts of Trompenberg. The house consists of two volumes that are intertwined, but remain individually legible as two different masses. The position of the house is pricisely matched to the existing trees on the lot. Striking masonry chimneys anchor both volumes in the surrounding landscape and bring balance to the predominantly horizontal linework of the house.
The ground floor of the house consists of royal entrance, a spacious kitchen and dining area, a library which extends over two floors, and a spacious living room. A skylight in the roof illuminates the landing on the first floor, from which the various bedrooms can be reached. A small bridge crosses the library on the first floor and provides access to the master bedroom. All bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom.
The facade is made of a coral red brick. The natural nuances present in the brick provide a lively yet sleek look. The recessed horizontal joint accentuates the linework. The modern look is enhanced by the slender UNP steel fascia which is provided with a matt powder coating, as well as the aluminum window frames. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows bring a generous amount of daylight into the home and pull the green environment in. The spacious canopies ensure that during the summer, sunlight does not directly enter the house and the house remains predominantly cool.
