Located in Port-Gentil, Republic of Gabon, on a plot bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
Villa Rugari is characterized by its play on volumes and shadows. The most noticeable element is its swimming pool attached to the building. Though located just a few meters from the ocean, for security reasons, it is difficult to build openly on the beach. Attaching the pool to its volumes draws the slightly distant ocean closer to the house.
A visual illusion that reflects the wavy shadows right inside adjacent living quarters.
The ground floor is made of 3 lounges, a 10-seater dining area, a kitchen with its storage room, a bedroom attached to a full bathroom. The garden is dominated by the L-shaped pool.
The top floor has 2 bedrooms fitted with independent bathrooms, a study/bedroom and a master bedroom in a self-contained apartment typology with views across the ocean.
