Villa R1 is a contemporary summer house located on the picturesque Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. Perched on a hill above sea level, the villa boasts breathtaking views of the waters and lush greenery surrounding it. The project introduces a fresh approach to Bulgarian seaside leisure, departing from conventional architectural trends in the region.
Architectural Vision: Pavilion-Style Design
Villa R1 draws inspiration from modernist pavilions, comprising three low-level volumes that blend seamlessly into the park-like setting. The design emphasizes openness, with the volumes strategically positioned to maximize natural light and uninterrupted views of the sea. The pavilion structure achieves a remarkable sense of spaciousness, with a 24-meter construction span free of columns, a technological feat adapted from bridge-building techniques.
This openness creates a striking contrast to the typical architecture seen along the Bulgarian seaside, offering a fresh and modern interpretation of coastal living.
Indoor-Outdoor Connection
One of the defining features of Villa R1 is its strong emphasis on connecting indoor and outdoor spaces.
