Perched on a ridge two minutes walking distance from the beach, Villa Pavela offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding hills (la cordillera). Designed by architects Ela and Pawel Fiett, the house draws on the local Nicaraguan and Colonial Spanish tradition with its heavy white masonry walls, open roof beams, terra cotta floors, Spanish roof tiles, and caña ceilings. A more contemporary architectural vocabulary was used to express the natural beauty of polished concrete counters studded with beach pebbles and fine cedar screens. A grand winding staircase leads up to the house.
