Villa N is located at a lake. The design obtains a summer-like feeling thanks to the light natural stone combined with a glass façade and an open floor plan.
Because of the pivoted volume, the design gets more dimension and enjoys multiple interesting views of the green scenery.
In order to maintain privacy and to obtain maximal light, the patio, at the street side, is created to enable a design with a glass front and backside. As a result all areas are directly connected with an outdoor area and the entire house is filled with daylight.
The façade, finished in steel plates, contains the access to the garage and to the patio. The perforations in this façade ensure that the accommodation is not completely disconnected of his surroundings but still allows the passer-by to catch a glimpse of the underlying activities.
The slope of the terrain was also used to create different views towards the water. In a natural way, on the main floor, a plateau is formed by extending the floor which serves as a terrace. On the other hand, the slope of the terrain also gives the ability to provide a half buried basement with natural light and views on the water.
The rectangular upper level is tilted towards the main floor providing the villa with a covered terrace that stretches out into the infinity pool. The first floor hosts 4 bedrooms, each with their own terrace and a lake view.
By strategically using volumes in the interior, an open plan is provided with enough intimacy and a clear view of the water.
