Villa MTD01 is placed in a upper class neighborhood built in the 80’s on the top of a hill, with marvelous views on Jesi historic center, on Marche countryside, on Appennini mountains.
Most of the surrounding buildings are traditional low detached houses with brick walls and pitched roofs.
The contractor asked for a breakthrough building which looks different and contemporary. He wanted a 3 flats house where every apartment looks like a single family house with its own entrance, its own distinctive facade, its own garage.
A terraced house solution was rejected because the central flat would be penalized in exposition and appearance. The goal was reached creating a t-shaped layout with two flats mirrored each other and the other one placed crosswise.
White, red a grey colors are used to create a impact image. The house reaches the maximum height permitted to look more impressive and imposing.
The first floor is composed by two white boxes carved by grey surfaces where windows stand.
On the ground floor internal partition is underlined by the external use of red for the living room, imperial quartzite for the entrance, grey for kitchen and service rooms. The same quartzite is used for external flooring.
On the top floor large glass sliding doors light up the stairs and the corridors of the lower floors. The flat roof, covered by wooden floor, is used as a large platform to enjoy the panorama.
Railings and entrance canopies has been designed specifically for this building.
Night lighting is solved by placing a led strip all around the lower edge of the first floor to emphasize the colors and the stones used on the ground floor walls.
Interior finishes have been chosen by the flats owners themselves respecting the color palette of exteriors.
